Janet Ann GLASBY
In loving memory of Janet Ann GLASBY, who passed away on September 23, 2001 at the age of 44 years.
Janet was born in Mindemoya, Ontario. Beloved daughter of Alvin GLASBY of Manitoulin Lodge, Gore Bay. Sister of Dorothy of Little Current, Ed (wife Diane) of Tehkummah, and Lorraine (husband Roger PYETTE) of Manitowaning. Also survived by nieces Dianne, Carolyn, Tracy and Vickie. Predeceased by mother Elaine {SLOAN} . Also remembered by her good Friends Ruth MOODIE, Maureen CLAYTON, David MERCIER and the GLENN family of Markerville, Alberta. She lived and worked in the construction industry in Alberta for the past 22 years. Most recently she was employed as a contract administrator at the Athabasca Oil Sands Downstream Project in Fort Saskatchewan. She gained strength from her many Friends and work family in Alberta. Janet enjoyed life, especially she loved her work. She also found pleasure in golfing, fly-fishing, gardening and travelling. She had a special place in her heart for the village and people of Placencia in Belize. A memorials service was held on September 27 in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. A memorial service will also be held at Mindemoya United Church on October 13, 2001 at 3: 00 p.m. and in Belize at a later date.

In loving memory of Lawrence William "Lorne" CONNOR at Manitoulin Health Centre, on Sunday, May 6, 2001 at the age of 75 years.
Beloved son of William and Annie CONNOR, both predeceased. Dear brother of Sydney CONNOR and friend Gretta GARBUTT, Ida BRYANT and husband Henry (predeceased) of Manitowaning. Predeceased by John Fredrick CONNOR, Beulah and husband Lawrence HUGHSON, Olive and husband Wilbert MOORE. Remembered with love by many nieces and nephews. Visitation was Tuesday, May 8, 2001. Funeral Service to be held Wednesday, May 9, 2001 at Island Funeral Home with Elder Madeline CHARLTON officiating. Burial in Elm View Cemetery.

In loving memory of Lottie (née PYETTE) DOYLE who passed away peacefully at the Elmgrove Living Centre, Toronto on Sunday July 29 2001.
Lottie DOYLE, beloved wife of the late Ed DOYLE.
Dear mother of Sheila MacLEAN and her husband David, and Edna RYDER and her husband Al. Dear grandmother of Stephen, Bryan, Sarah, the late Robert, Patrick, Emily, and Lauren. Survived by sisters Daisy MOORE, Mildred PICKERING, and many other relatives. Friends were received at the Lynett Funeral Home, 3299 Dundas St. West, Toronto, Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday August 1, at 1: 30 pm from Holy Family Church, 1372 King St. West, Toronto. Interment St. James Cemetery, Colgan, Ont. Many thanks to the staff of Elmgrove Living Centre for all of their compassion and care shown throughout the years.

Melvin LISCUMB
In loving memory Melvin LISCUMB, May 29, 1915-August 19, 2001.
Melvin LISCUMB, a resident of the Manitoulin Centennial Manor, Little Current, died at the Manor on Sunday, August 19, 2001 at the age of 86 years. He was born in Sandfield, son of the late Tobias and Nancy {ROBINSON} LISCUMB. Melvin had worked at a variety of jobs over the years, and the last being for the Department of Highways, for 25 years, retiring in the late '70s. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church and had many interests including cutting wood, gardening, fixing things and visiting with Friends and neighbours. He will be sadly missed by family and Friends. Dearly loved husband of Catherine (HALLETT) LISCUMB. Loving and loved father and father-in-law of Lyle and Gayle LISCUMB of Milton, Joan and Don McMURRAY of Tehkummah, Marlene MOORE of Sudbury and Robert and Peggie LISCUMB of Sudbury. Proud grandfather of Jerry, Krista, Shawn, Craig, Lisa, Paul and Melanie and great grandchildren Peter, Emily, Dustin, Hailey and Morgan. Dear brother of Mina STOAKLEY of Mindemoya and sister-in-law Lillian LISCUMB of Oakville. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by children Jackie in 1953, Rosella in 1969, grandchildren Mary Ann and Travis and brothers Elsworth, Harry and Ernie and sisters Verna PATTERSON and Violet PEARSON.
The funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, August 22, 2001 with Mr. Weston LEESON and Mr. Lyle DEWAR officiating. Interment in Providence Bay Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Culgin Funeral Home, Gore Bay.

Lottie Emma (MOORE) CHAPMAN
Lottie Emma CHAPMAN died Monday August 28, 2001 in her 96th year.
She was born in Lion's Head, Ont. January 24, 1906, the eldest daughter of the late Whitford B. MOORE and Emma LYMBURNER.
She was predeceased by her husband William I. CHAPMAN of South Baymouth in 1963 and by her daughter Helen, Mrs. Trevor McMORRIS in 1978. Also by both sisters, Gertrude, Mrs. J.E. DEAN, and Donna MOORE. Surviving to mourn her death, her daughter Jeanette FEW and husband Fred of Little Current with whom she made her home. Also her grandchildren Emily GEROUX (husband Marty,) Jo-ann SMITH (husband Steve,) Jeanette HUGHES (husband Ernie) and Robert LAUER and his wife Bonnie.
She enjoyed her great-grandchildren Tiffany GEROUX, Stephanie and Jeffrey SMITH, and Samantha and Matthew LAUER.
She will be missed by nieces and nephews and a wide circle of Friends and relations acquired over a long and active life.
At her request, cremation will be followed by a memorial service in
Saint John's Anglican Church, South Bay and interment of her ashes in
Hilly Grove Cemetery - the time and date to be announced later.

Lottie Emma CHAPMAN died Tuesday August 28, 2001 in her 96th year.

Ida Mae {CONNOR} BRYANT
January 4, 1919-October 1, 2001.
Ida M. BRYANT, a resident of Manitowaning, passed away at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current, on Monday, October 1, 2001 at the age of 82 years. She was born in Sheguiandah Township, daughter of the late William and Annie {BRYANT} CONNOR. She worked at the Assiginack Museum and was the caretaker of Knox United Church for over 30 years. Ida was very active in the community as a member of the Friendship Club, Knox United Church, Agricultural and Horticultural Societies. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens and visiting with her many Friends and family.
Predeceased by her loving husband James Henry BRYANT in 1983. Dear and loving mother of Jim and Jacqueline BRYANT of Manitowaning. Proud grandmother of 2 grandchildren Michael of Toronto and Catherine FRANTZ (husband Warren) of Sudbury and 2 great grandchildren Megan and Christena. Dear sister of Beulah HUGHSON, John, Lorne, Syd CONNOR and Olive MOORE all predeceased. Also predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Lawrence HUGHSON and Wilbert MOORE. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Manitowaning Chapel Funeral Home Tuesday October 2, 2001. The funeral service will be conducted from Knox United Church, Manitowaning on Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at 11: 00 a.m. with Pastor Wally WOOD officiating. Interment in Hilly Grove Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Manitowaning Chapel Funeral Home.
