June 11 1944-January 22 2001.
Ronald OWL, a resident of Sucker Creek First Nation, died at his
residence on Monday, January 22, 2001 in his 57th year, after a
courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by love and laughter. Ron
had served in the USA Army as a specialist during the Viet Nam war.
He had received the Cambodia Campaign Ribbon as well as other medals
and decorations. He had worked for Canada post in Toronto for 15
years retiring in 1990, when he moved home to Sucker Creek, and then
worked as a labourer for the Sucker Creek Band. He enjoyed sports,
hockey and football, but he took great pleasure in reading and
watching documentaries on war, and reading science fiction books and
magazines.

Taryan of Waterloo. Loved and proud grandfather of Tyler, Hunter and

Friends may call at the Sucker Creek Community Centre on Tuesday and
Wednesday. The funeral service will be conducted there on Thursday,
January 25, 2001 at 11: 00 am. with Reverend Richard White officiating.
Interment in Sucker Creek Cemetery.

Gerald PITAWANAKWAT, a resident of Toronto passed away at Humber River
Regional Hospital, Church St. Site, Toronto, on Tuesday, February 13 2001
at the age of 59 years. Gerald was born in Cape Croker,
son of the late
Fred PITAWANAKWAT, and Agnes
WAGOSH
PITAWANAKWAT.
Gerald was a member of
the Catholic Church and enjoyed bowling.

February 17, 2001. Funeral Mass was held on Monday, February 19, 2001 from
Holy
Cross
Church at 11 am. Father Doug
McCARTHY was the celebrant.
Interment in the Wikwemikong Cemetery.
