In loving memory of Einari Alarik
HERMIKARI, 77 years of Sudbury who
passed away Friday morning, January 5th, 2001 at Sudbury Regional
Hospital - Memorial Site. He was born in Karjala, Finland and
married Jeanne d’Arc (Veillette) in 1979 in Sudbury. Einari came to
Canada in 1953 living in Northwestern Ontario and moving to Sudbury
in 1955. He was a welder in the Copper Cliff Plate Shop having over
30 years at
INCO retiring in 1987. Einari was a longtime member of
the Sudbury Finnish Male Choir where he shared his gift and love of
music. He also had an extensive musical collection. He served in the
Finnish Army during World War II and he was always proud of his
Finnish heritage. A self taught man he had a quest for knowledge and
a passion for social justice and fairness for all people. He
expressed his opinions regularly in his letters to the editor. The
light of his life will be missed by his loving family, many Friends
and our community. Beloved husband of Jeanne d’Arc (Veillette)
HERMIKARI of Sudbury. Loving father of Esa of Sudbury and Risto of
Finland. Cherished grandfather of Jarno, Jyrki and Juuso. Survived
by one brother in Finland. Memorial Service in the Lougheed Funeral
Home, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Saturday, January 13th, 2001 at 1
pm. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium.

TRAFELET and by an infant great granddaughter.
Thelma was born in Little Current and began her married life in a tiny
community near Whitefish Falls, where Joe and Tom were born. They moved to
Southampton where Lillian was born and lived there for many years. After
Oliver retired they moved to their tiny cottage near Oliphant and in their
final years moved back to Southampton. Always busy, she was an active member
of the Southampton Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Baptist Church of
Southampton and the Horticultural Society. She was a leader of the
Southampton Girl Guides for 28 years and will be fondly remembered by her
"girls." When they moved to Oliphant she became an active member of the
Oliphant Women's Institute. Thelma's greatest enjoyment in life was being
involved in her community.
The funeral service was conducted in the Chapel of the Eagleson Funeral
Home, Southampton on Thursday, July 19 with Pastor Ron Baker officiating.
Interment Balsam Grove Cemetery, Oliphant.
