-In loving memory of Vincent Leo FRANCIS, 82 years, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was actively occupied in carpentry, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed hockey, canoe races, fiddle music, skidooing, boating and trapping. Beloved husband of Margaret (Maggie) (Recollet-Mishibinijima) FRANCIS of Little Current. Loving father of Julia, Jean, Louis, Irene and James. Dear grandfather of Gregory, Jeanette, Margaret (husband Jose), Mary, Henry, James, Bernadette, Mark, Tony, Paul, Alexandria, Jamie, Mitchell, Lee, Jadine, Brody, August, Patricia and Heidi and 21 great-grandchildren. Dear son of the late Leslie and Julia (Kitchemokmon) FRANCIS (both predeceased.) Dear brother of David, late Genevieve, late Paul, Jonas, Rosalie,Ken, late George, late Terrance, Helen, Dorothy and George. Resting at the Birch Island Community Centre, Birch Island, Ontario. Funeral Mass was in the Community Centre, Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at 10: 30 a.m.. interment in the Birch Island Cemetery. Arrangement entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.

Beloved wife of the late Vincent FRANCIS (predeceased January 20, 2001,) who she was married to for 60 years. Loving mother of Julia, Jerome (predeceased), Jean, Louis, Irene and James. Dear grandmother of Gregory, Jeanette, Margaret (husband Joe), Mary, Henry, James, Bernadetta, Mark, Tony, Paul (wife Gina), Alexandria, Jamie, Mitchell, Lee, Jaden, Brody, August, Patricia, Heidi, and 21 great grandchildren. Dear daughter of Josette RECOLLET (predeceased.) Dear sister of Onezine RECOLLET (wife Mary,) Alec Simon and Clement Simon MISHIBINIJIMA (wife Rose.)

In Loving Memory of Louis Joseph LAVALLEE September 16, 1942 - March 25, 2001
Joe LAVALLEE, a resident of South Bay, died at his residence on Sunday March 25, 2001. He was born in South Bay, son of the late David LAVALLEE and the late Julia OSABABINE of Wikwemikong. He was employed as a logger and carpenter, Joe enjoyed bingo and quilting blankets. He also was involved with the community on the Education and Housing committees and very active in the Catholic Church.
Dearly loved husband of Rozina {MISHIBINIJIMA} LAVALLEE of South Bay. Dear father of Rodney, Roger and Samantha all of Wikwemikong, Lissa of Sudbury and step son Timmy of Sudbury. Dear brother of Mary LAVALLEE (predeceased,) Sylvester OSABABINE, Vincent and Thaddeus (Bonnie) LAVALLEE, Thomas (wife Elizabeth) WEMIGWANS, Wilfred (wife Evelyn,) Veronica (husband Wendy,) Rose BUPREAU (husband Ron,) Henry (wife Corrine) WEMIGWANS. Dear son-in-law of Phillip ROY, Eugene SIMON (predeceased), Howard SIMON, Francis (Laurie) SIMON (predeceased) , Malcolm SIMON, Archie FRANCIS, Terry BENNETT, Mary and Dianne SIMON, Valarie (David) LAVALLEE. Also survived by three grandchildren, Darren, Andrew, Joshua and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by grand_son Ace Louis.
Relatives and Friends called at South Bay Community Centre on Monday. The
funeral mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Church, South Bay at 11: 00
a.m. with Fr. Doug McCarthy as celebrant. Interment in South Bay Cemetery.

Ida Mae {CONNOR} BRYANT
January 4, 1919-October 1, 2001.
Ida M. BRYANT, a resident of Manitowaning, passed away at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current, on Monday, October 1, 2001 at the age of 82 years. She was born in Sheguiandah Township, daughter of the late William and Annie {BRYANT} CONNOR. She worked at the Assiginack Museum and was the caretaker of Knox United Church for over 30 years. Ida was very active in the community as a member of the Friendship Club, Knox United Church, Agricultural and Horticultural Societies. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens and visiting with her many Friends and family.
Predeceased by her loving husband James Henry BRYANT in 1983. Dear and loving mother of Jim and Jacqueline BRYANT of Manitowaning. Proud grandmother of 2 grandchildren Michael of Toronto and Catherine FRANTZ (husband Warren) of Sudbury and 2 great grandchildren Megan and Christena. Dear sister of Beulah HUGHSON, John, Lorne, Syd CONNOR and Olive MOORE all predeceased. Also predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Lawrence HUGHSON and Wilbert MOORE. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Manitowaning Chapel Funeral Home Tuesday October 2, 2001. The funeral service will be conducted from Knox United Church, Manitowaning on Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at 11: 00 a.m. with Pastor Wally WOOD officiating. Interment in Hilly Grove Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Manitowaning Chapel Funeral Home.

FRASER, Betty Patricia (née BREMM)
In loving memory of Betty (née BREMM) FRASER, 79 years of Sudbury, who passed away Friday, January 5th, 2001 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Born in London, England, she married Charles FRASER in 1945 in London, England. Betty came to Sudbury in 1949
from Campbellford. She was a Roman Catholic who belonged to St. Patrick’s Parish. She had served in the Royal Army during World War II and she was a former member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #564 Lockerby. She was an accomplished knitter whose beautiful afgans are treasured by children, grandchildren and even family pets. The light of Betty’s life shone brightly on all who knew her. Her wonderful sense of humour, she generously shared with others whether her extended family members in her neighbours at Caswell Apts or her devoted and loving family especially her grandchildren who fondly called her 'Nanny'. Always quick to help others, Betty inspired many with her courageous journey during her illness. Betty will be remembered as a beautiful woman on the outside when she would dress up and on the inside with her love of life. She leaves the legacy of her smile which touched everyone who met her and will bring comfort to those who now say good-bye to her in this world so she can join her husband in heaven. Beloved wife of Charles FRASER predeceased 1998. Loving mother of Susan FRASER, Wayne FRASER (wife Marguerite) and Marilyn POLIFRONI (husband Rocco) all of Sudbury, David FRASER (wife Carmen) of Fort Lauderdale, Fl. and Paul FRASER (wife Judy) of Prince Rupert, B.C. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Russell, Christopher, Jamie, Jodie, Cori, Bobby-Joe, Scott and Troy. Dear daughter of George and Doris (SONN) BREMM predeceased. Dear sister of Beau BREMM of London, England.
Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, 39 Walford Rd, Sudbury on Monday, January 8th, 2001 at 11: 00 a.m. Interment in the Civic Cemetery, Sudbury.

Betty E. BUTCHER née FRASHER
Betty E. BUTCHER, 88, Port Charlotte, died July 11, 2001.
She was born May 12, 1913, in Fort Gay, W. VA, and came to Port Charlotte six years ago from Mindemoya, Ontario. She was a homemaker. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Cooties 4466 in Barberton, Ohio. Survivors include a daughter, H. Faye STOLZ of Rotonda West, two brothers Edgar FRASHER of Elkview, W. VA, and Joe FRASHER of Chillicothe, Ohio, five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased in death by her husband Ebber E. BUTCHER of Mindemoya, Ontario, Canada. Parents Flonnie C. and Otto FRASHER of Fort Gay, W., VA and brothers Herman of Akron, OH and Pete FRASHER.
A private service is planned. Arrangements entrusted to Englewood Community Funeral Home, Florida.
