Ronald David OWL
In loving memory of Ronald David OWL, June 11 1944-January 22 2001. Ronald OWL, a resident of Sucker Creek First Nation, died at his residence on Monday, January 22, 2001 in his 57th year, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by love and laughter. Ron had served in the USA Army as a specialist during the Viet Nam war. He had received the Cambodia Campaign Ribbon as well as other medals and decorations. He had worked for Canada post in Toronto for 15 years retiring in 1990, when he moved home to Sucker Creek, and then worked as a labourer for the Sucker Creek Band. He enjoyed sports, hockey and football, but he took great pleasure in reading and watching documentaries on war, and reading science fiction books and magazines.
Beloved father of Lee-Anne SCOTT (husband Michael) of Collingwood, Brandon of Sucker Creek, Trevor (Carrie MIGWANS) of Sudbury and Taryan of Waterloo. Loved and proud grandfather of Tyler, Hunter and Trevor Jr. Also survived by treasured little sister Lori Madahbee (Danny) of Sucker Creek, Shirley MURDOCH (Robert) of Toronto and brother Same (wife Josephine) of Michigan. Special friend of Sylvia MARKLE-CRAINE, Jo-Anne DINOVA, Nancy OWL, Debbie OWL, Ed and Lorraine KOZEYAH and the MARKLE family. He was loved and will be missed by seven nieces and five nephews.
Predeceased by parents Madeline {SOLOMON} OWL and father Levi OWL, twin brother Donald Richard and sister Elsie Rose. Friends may call at the Sucker Creek Community Centre on Tuesday and Wednesday. The funeral service will be conducted there on Thursday, January 25, 2001 at 11: 00 am. with Reverend Richard White officiating.
Interment in Sucker Creek Cemetery.

Catherine Mary Elizabeth BROWN
In loving memory of Catherine Mary Elizabeth BROWN, August 7 1915-May 1 2001.
Catherine BROWN, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge, died at the St. Joseph's Health Centre, Sudbury, on Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at the age of 85 years. She was born at Ice Lake, daughter of the late Alfred and Catherine {KERR} BRANDOW. Catherine had been a school bus driver for many years. She was a member of the Ice Lake Church of Christ and the Ice Lake Women's Institute and enjoyed knitting. Catherine was a kind and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be sadly missed, but many memories will be shared with much love.
Catherine as predeceased by her first husband Alexander McDOUGALL in 1960. She later married Clarence BROWN who predeceased in 1998. Dearly loved mother of Eileen and husband Bill SLOAN of Gore Bay, Alfred McDOUGALL and his wife Dorothy of Naughton, Sandy McDOUGALL and his wife Elsie and Dennis McDOUGALL and his wife Dale all of Ice Lake, and Steve McDOUGALL and his wife Laurie of Espanola. Proud grandmother of Sherry, Pam, Tim, David, Chrisanne, Julia, Joanne, Jill, Charlie, Chad, Derick and Amanda and great grandchildren Matthew, Tyler, Christine, Amanda, Michael, Cory, Spencer, Logan, David, Miranda, Zachary, Morgan and Liam. Predeceased by a sister Laura.
The funeral service was conducted in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel with Pastor Les CRAMP officiating on Saturday, May 5, 2001. Interment in Gordon Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Strawberry Point Christian Camp or the Manitoulin Lodge Volunteers would be appreciated.

Formerly of Sheguiandah, Ontario. Beloved son of Ray (deceased) and Norine CRANSTON of Markham, Ontario.
Beloved brother of Jean and husband Blaine BOSWELL of Pittsburgh, and Beverly and husband David HILL of Stouffville, brother-in-law of Marilyn and husband Mike PALMER of Tiverton, Karen and husband Todd KENNEDY of McGregor. Dear uncle to Scott and Sheryl, Leslie and Karen, Warren, Daisy and Brittany. Predeceased by brother Merlyn, mother-in-law Edna DUCK and his faithful friend Tasha.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, May 9, 2001 at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, conducted by Reverend Margaret Greenhow. Place of burial: Sanctuary Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Darren PALMER, Dieter SZLAPA, Dave HILL, Gary GREEN, Dave MARSHALL and Blaine BOSWELL. Honorary pallbearers were Scott OTTEWELL, Geo. ZIMMERMAN, Mike PALMER and Dietrich BUCHWALD.

Beloved wife of the late Wellington CRANSTON (predeceased 1989.) Loving mother of Ken (wife Jan) of Hanmer and the late Wayne and Blaine both predeceased. Cherished grandmother of Cindy (husband Kristian), Tim, Mike and great grand_son Evan. Dear daughter of Thomas John and Melissa KENNEDY) REED both predeceased. Dear sister of the late Clinton, Willard, George (wife Victoria) and John all predeceased. Dear sister-in-law of Margaret of Little Current. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews.
Memorial service was held on Saturday, June 2, 2001 at the Providence Bay United Church, Manitoulin Island. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.

Suddenly at the London Health Sciences Centre, Westminster Campus, on Saturday, May 5th, 2001, in his 57th year. Wayne CRANSTON of Port Elgin.
Twenty-nine year employee of Ontario Hydro. Dear friend and husband of Sharon JEFFREY of Port Elgin. He is also survived by his mother Norine CRANSTON of Markham, sisters, Jean and her husband Blaine BOSWELL of Pittsburgh, and Beverly and her husband David HILL of Stouffville. He will be missed by Sharon's family, Marilyn and her husband Mike PALMER of Tiverton, and Karen and her husband Todd KENNEDY of McGregor, his nieces and nephews, Scott and Sheryl, Leslie and Karen, Warren, Daisy and Brittany. He was predeceased by his father, Ray CRANSTON, brother, Merlyn and mother-in-law Edna DUCK and by his faithful friend Tasha. Funeral arrangements were conducted by the W.
