Dougald MAGOON
Long-time summer resident of McGregor Bay, Dougald MAGOON, passed away November 13, 2000 after a long illness. He first came to the Bay in 1946, with his parents Wallace and Iris MAGOON. After exploring the area camping and canoeing, the family purchased two islands. In 1948, Dougald's island home was built by his paternal grandparents. Dougald spent his vacations here for 54 years.
Survivors include his wife Bette MAGOON, a son Sean MAGOON (wife Rene,) three daughters Maureen BURGE (husband John,) Heather MAGOON and Kellie MAGOON, two brothers Duncan MAGOON and Rod MAGOON, two sisters Mary Anne MAGOON and Patricia HOGAN, and four grandchildren. Following Dougald MAGOON's wishes, a small service will be held at his island July 7 at 11: 00. For information about the service, please call 705-285-5129.

Dorothy May Blanche MERRYLEES
In loving memory of Dorothy May Blanche MERRYLEES, April 19 1915-May 15 2001.
Dorothy MERRYLEES, a resident of Bayside Apartments, died at the Mindemoya Hospital, on Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at the age of 86 years. She was born in Burpee Township, daughter of the late Albert and Sarah {BAILEY} CAMPBELL. Dorothy had a wide variety of interests, including reading and travelling, and in particular loved to visit with family and relatives. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Cecil MERRYLEES in October of 1988. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Delbert and Audrey MERRYLEES of Naughton, Audrene MERRYLEES of Sudbury, Curtis MERRYLEES of Gore Bay, Carolyn and Ernie BAHNUK of St. Catherines, Barbara and Garry BLUE of Garson and Darwin and Sandy MERRYLEES of Lively. Proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Also surviving are sister Leatha MORRELL of Elizabeth Bay, Lloyd CAMPBELL and his wife Kathleen of Evansville, and step brother Marvin CAMPBELL and his wife Reona of Little Current. Predeceased by brother Vern CAMPBELL and step sister Alberta SPRY. The funeral service was conducted at the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on Wednesday, May 16 with Reverend Bonnie BURNETT officiating. Interment in Gordon Cemetery.

In loving memory of Francis H. COOK, 84 years, Tuesday morning, April 10, 2001 at the Extendicare-York, Sudbury.
Beloved husband of Annie {KULEBA} COOK, predeceased 1956. Father of Shirley LANG (husband Jim) of Sudbury, Robert COOK (wife Darlene) and William COOK (wife Evelyn) both of Walden. Cherished grandfather of Faydra (husband Mark AUBUT), Kimberly (husband Quirino BATTISTI), John COOK (wife Lilly), Terry (husband Trevor DOWDALL,) and Bobbie-Jo (husband Kai LUMME) great grandchildren Ryan, Joel, James and Peter. Dear son of William and Annie COOK, predeceased. Dear brother of Annie KEYES, predeceased, Violet BURNS of London, Lena ROTTEAU of Goderich, Reta BUGG of Oshawa, and Linda ROY of North Bay. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and his loving pets. Funeral service was held at the Lougheed funeral home Friday, April 13. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium.
