Gordon will be sadly missed and remembered by his eleven grandchildren and
three great grandchildren.
Survived by one sister, Betty and husband Desmond
CLEMENT of Comox, British
Columbia.
Gordon was employee of Nanticoke Generating Station for 17 and half years,
was very active in his community and the area. He was a long-time volunteer
with the Boy Scouts of Canada and also with the
YMCA. He was a strong
believer in giving of himself to those who were in need, and will be
remembered by all who knew him for his generosity and kindness. Gordon also
was fortunate to have a beautiful voice of song and sang at many weddings
and functions. His love and talent of boat building gave him many, many
hours of pleasure, as he was an avid boater. Mr.
CATCHPOLE was at the
Thompson Waters Funeral Home, Port Dover, visitation was on Sunday and a
Funeral Service will be held by the family at a later date. Cremation has
taken place. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be
kindly acknowledged by the family and can be done by calling Thompson Waters
Funeral Home 1-519-583-1530.

FRASER, 79 years of Sudbury,
who passed away Friday, January 5th, 2001 at the Sudbury Regional
Hospital - Laurentian Site. Born in London, England, she married
Charles FRASER in 1945 in London, England. Betty came to Sudbury in 1949
from Campbellford. She was a Roman Catholic who belonged to St.
Patrick’s Parish. She had served in the Royal Army during World War
II and she was a former member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch
#564 Lockerby. She was an accomplished knitter whose beautiful
afgans are treasured by children, grandchildren and even family
pets. The light of Betty’s life shone brightly on all who knew her.
Her wonderful sense of humour, she generously shared with others
whether her extended family members in her neighbours at Caswell
Apts or her devoted and loving family especially her grandchildren
who fondly called her “Nanny”. Always quick to help others, Betty
inspired many with her courageous journey during her illness. Betty
will be remembered as a beautiful woman on the outside when she
would dress up and on the inside with her love of life. She leaves
the legacy of her smile which touched everyone who met her and will
bring comfort to those who now say good-bye to her in this world so
she can join her husband in heaven. Beloved wife of Charles
