September 9 1922 - December 15 2000.
A resident of Manitowaning passed away at the Manitoulin
Health Centre, Little Current on Friday, December 15 2000 at the age
of 78 years. He was born in Georgetown,
son of the late William and
Margaret
{INGLIS}
REID.
Herb was a veteran of WW2 serving in the
Royal
Canadian
Air Force. He farmed for 45 years, sold farm machinery,
and was a member of the Assiginack Historical Board and Museum Board.
He also served the community as councillor for 15 years and reeve for three
years. Herb was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting as well visiting
with family and Friends.

Heather of Sarnia, Walter and wife Brenda, Brenda
GIBBONS and husband Michael both of Manitowaning and Barbara

Janet GIBBONS and Christopher, Amy, Matthew, Joseph and Rebecca
REID.
Great grandfather of Brandon and Austin
REID. Dear brother of Craig
and wife Peggy of Burlington and Agnes and husband Bill

Windsor.
Predeceased by two brothers Bruce and Weir
REID.
A memorial service was held at the Knox United Church on Monday
December 18 2000 with Pastor Margaret Wood and Elder Bill
REID
officiating. Cremation. Interment will be held this spring at Hilly
Grove Cemetery.
If so desired, memorial donations to the Assiginack Museum Building
Fund would be appreciated by the family.
