November 27 2000, who passed away in Munroe, Ohio at the age of 86 years.
Beloved wife of the late Hoyt

Loving mother of daughter Beth
DITMYER of Ohio and son Dr. Hoyt A.
WHEELAND, and wife
Joan, of Virginia.
Gladys was born on September 27, 1914 in Crothersville, Indiana,
daughter of Fred and Pearl
LAMBERT.
She and her husband Hoyt had
started coming to the Island in the early 1960s and had stayed at the
Red Lodge where their daughter Beth met and married the owner's son
Joe DITMYER. In the early 1970s the
WHEELANDs built their own home
across the lake in the Cosby Subdivision of Rockville. Their daughter
Beth and husband Joe still have a cottage in the Cosby Subdivision.
Gladys will be remembered for being active in the Rockville
Community. She belonged to the Women's Institute and both she and her
husband Hoyt were members of the Green Bay United Church of Canada.
Gladys and Hoyt recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary
with a celebration held at the Little Current Legion, Branch 177
where 200 guests were in attendance. Gladys loved coming to the
Manitoulin where she enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens.
Survived by one brother Jay
LAMBERT.
Predeceased by two sisters Edna
POMINA and Frances
HARTIGAN.
Also predeceased by two grandchildren.
Will be missed by four grandchildren: Stacey
HEUTHER,
Gretchen
PIERCE, and Andy and Sarah
DITMYER and four great grandchildren.
