An article on the SIMONS family (Ontario Historical Society Papers and
Records pp 470-492, vol. 23, 1926) contains an interesting statement that
is somewhat at variance with the information given in the query.
"Colonel (Titus GREER) SIMONS had three daughters, but no sons.
The two elder daughters married two brothers, Messrs. ROBERTSON,
Barristers, of Goderich, one of whom, Thomas, later was elevated to a
judicial position at Osgoode Hall in Toronto."
Marriage bonds exist for Alexander and Ross ROBERTSON and their
respective SIMONS brides, but there is a third bond for Thomas ROBERTSON
and Charlotte FISH, both of London, 1832, with bondsmen show as
Ira SCHOFIELD and William ROBERTSON.
The names of these bondsmen certainly seem to connect this marriage bond
to the family mentioned in the query.
The 1857 Directory of the Province of Ontario shows Thomas ROBERTSON,
barrister, residing in Dundas.

There is a marriage record for this family that give Adelia SPOHN's
maiden name as WITHERAL, not SPRINGSTEEN:
Elgin Co Mar Register, vol 2 page 41:
Charles SPOHN, 23 of Saint Thomas, born Canada,
son of Peter L. SPOHN and Delia WITHERAL
married on 24 Jan 1866 to Selina COLE age 23 of Saint Thomas, born England,
dtr of Samuel COLE and Mary ROCKEY.
They were married by Rev. Geo. CUTHBERTSON of Saint Thomas, Presbyterian,
with Robert CARRIE of Saint Thomas as witness.
The same mar reg shows the 1865 marriage of Wesley SPOHN of Ancaster
(son of Philip) to Eliza GRIFFIN of Sparta, so there was certainly some
movement of the SPOHN family back and forth between the Ancaster and
Saint Thomas areas.

of Pilkington born Ire, who mar 21 Aug 1864 Mary CORTNAM or CORTMAN,
but the RC priest did not fill in the names of Peter's parents.
