LIPCZYNSKI welcomed their second child
into the world this week at St. Joseph's hospital. Moments later,
they welcomed their third.
Then the fourth.
And, finally, the fifth as Albano, 34, successfully gave birth
to natural quadruplets -- no fertility drugs were used -- in
five minutes during an emergency caesarean birth Tuesday afternoon.
With an 18-month-old already keeping the Kitchener couple busy,
Clint says he isn't entirely sure what to think of the one-day
baby boom that produced two boys and two girls.
"We'll just do what we've got to do," he said yesterday from
his father's London home.
"It's great. We're very happy they're all healthy. It'll be really
exciting."
While he's known for a few months the quadruplets were on the
way, Clint, 33, says there is still a lot of preparation to do.
Reality -- including the fact the family lives in a two-bedroom
apartment -- is causing some concern.
"Early next year we're looking at buying a house or a whole apartment
building," Clint laughed. "Obviously now this is it (for kids).
I don't think we can get any bigger a vehicle after a (newly
bought) 12-person van."
An ultrasound showed the four babies six months ago.
"The doctor said one, two, three, four and (Jennifer) asked if
he was counting heartbeats," Clint says.
Then the excitement began. They decided to have the births in
London after finding doctors in Hamilton and Kitchener couldn't
handle them and Toronto doctors were intimidating.
"Once the doctors started talking about fetal reduction it got
very scary," Clint said of the suggestion two of the four be
killed to make the surviving two stronger.
Doctors in London, he added, were much more comforting and confident.
The as-yet-unnamed babies, each weighing four pounds, are in
the hospital's intensive care unit and will likely be in hospital
for two months.
Jennifer, who first held one of the newborns Thursday night,
should be out of hospital by this time next week.
With four high chairs, five swingsets and about 60 baby bottles
filling up their apartment, Clint says the couple is looking
to meet the challenge head-on.

Clint's father, is just excited about enjoying
his five grandchildren.
"The one (grandchild) is great (and now) I feel like I'm going
to have all these critters running around my feet, which is kind
of neat," he said. "I'm certainly proud of it."
