The first act of Phoibe's life story had Saint_Joseph's Health
Centre as its setting. Four Valkyrie-like midwives swooped about,
assisting Krisztina
SZABO, who had vowed to do battle without
medication.
The Wagnerian six-hour drama unfolded, climaxing with two hours
of "concerted pushing," according to her father, Kristian
CLARKE.
Tiny Titan goddess Phoibe made her entrance February 10, 2006,
at 8 pounds 10 ounces, and 22 inches unfurled -- which was not
surprising, since Dad and her uncles tower around 6-foot-5.
Ms. SZABO, 33, a mezzo-soprano, will be singing in the Easter
presentation of Bach's St. Matthew Passion at the Brooklyn Academy
of Music and is soon to begin rehearsals for the inaugural presentation
of the Ring cycle at the new Four Seasons Centre for the Performing
Arts.

PINCH hasn't discovered his toes yet. But his parents
Greg, 40, and Justine, 30, are convinced he'll share their passion
for adventure sports.
The first sign Kelly might be an adrenaline junkie came as Ms.
PINCH, an on-line marketing specialist, was in labour at Mount
Sinai Hospital.
"They gave her an epidural and Kelly came out so fast it didn't
function at all," says Mr.
PINCH, a former advertising executive.
And so with just four pushes, Kelly came into the world weighing
7 pounds, 5 ounces on December 9.
There is another sign the blue-eyed baby might enjoy thrill sports.
"Extreme sports require a lot of discipline in terms of practice
and in terms of intensity," Ms.
PINCH says. "Kelly is really
disciplined. He's on a three-hour schedule and the second it
hits three hours, he is ready for his food."

OUIMET was the first baby born at Collingwood General
and Marine Hospital in 2007 but he certainly won't be the last.
Almost 700 babies have been born at in the past 18 months and
the hospital has seen steady increases over the last two years.
According to Linda
DAVIS, Chief Executive Officer at G&M, 438 babies
were born between April 1, 2005 and March 31, 2006 a five per
cent jump over the previous year.
So, far this year, there have been more than 250 babies born
at the hospital.
"If we continue at that pace, we could be close to 500 babies,"
she said.
DAVIS said they are eyeing a 10 per cent increase over last year.
She doesn't know exactly a reason for the increases but says
the population growth is a definite factor.
"We have seen more young families moving into the Wasaga Beach
area," she said.
She says they have obstetricians and nurses on staff in the birthing
unit and will continue to improve care in that area.
