"Is Stricken at Lodge Meeting - Many at Funeral"
"In the loss of Walter W. STULL B.A.Sc. Ontario Land Surveyor, well known member of the firm of DEMOREST and STULL, whose sudden and untimeley death occured Wednesday evening February 10th, after only a few hours ilness, Sudbury loses one of its most esteemed citizens, a pioneer who has played a large and important part in the development of the North County, and a thorough gentleman."
"Stricken with apoplexy while he was addressing a Masonic Lodge meeting Tuesday night he was removed to St. Joseph's Hospital but never regained consciousness, the end coming peacefully Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock. The late Mr STULL was in his fifty-second year and had been a resident of Sudbury for twenty-six years."
"The funeral was held yesterday under Masonic auspices and was largely attended by townspeople. Services were held at the family residence and at Church of the Epiphany, which was taxed to capacity with sorowing Friends. Interment was made in the English Church Cemetery."
"Few surveyors in the North Country were as well known or versatile as was Mr STULL. His was a busy life to the end and he was never happier than when engaged upon a difficult undertaking that took him out into the wilds where he was always at home."
"In April 1901 he was married to Miss Carie CARLIE, a sister of Mrs DEMOREST."
"In Partnership: "
After the retirement of Mr. SYLVESTER from the firm in 1903, Mr STULL was taken in as a partner and in 1904 the business required another partner and was known as DEMOREST STULL and LOW/LOWE/LOUGH. It continued under this name until 1910 when it became DEMOREST and STULL and has remained so ever since."
"In addition to his widow the late Mr. STULL is survived by five children:
Ted who is in the flying corps at Sault Sainte Marie, Wilfred, Kathleen, Elizabeth and Eric all at home."
note: surnames CARLIE and SYLVESTER in this document are CARLEY and SILVESTER in the 1901 wedding record.

CARNEGIE o@ca.on.ontario_county.port_perry.port_perry_star 1921-10-06 published
Mr. Jas. CARNEGIE
Mr. James CARNEGIE, a resident of Port Perry for over 30 years, died at his home on Tuesday, October 4, 1921, after an illness of some months, in his 79th year.
Mr. CARNEGIE was born in Arbuthnot Parish, Kincardineshire, Scotland, on June 2, 1843, and came to Canada in June 1865. He was married in 1871 to Miss Louise FINCHAM, the ceremony being performed in Old St. Andrew's Church, Toronto. His wife and ten children six sons and four daughters survive Mr. CARNEGIE.
Mr. and Mrs. CARNEGIE celebrated their golden wedding last March, when all the family were present. Mr. CARNEGIE had a happy faculty for making Friends, having a true sense of hospitality, and a kindly disposition. This was very evident at the golden wedding, when a host of Friends sent kindly greetings and congratulations.
He was well known throughout the County, having taken an active part in public affairs. For a number of years he was member of the County Council, and became Warden of the County. During his term of office, the House of Refuge at Whitby was built and Mr. CARNEGIE had a large share in the work of oversight in this matter.
Good judgement and industry assured to Mr. CARNEGIE the success he achieved in his business ventures and the lumber mills in Port Perry will always be associated with his name.
He was of a vigorous type in both body and mind and he will be greatly missed by a host of Friends who learned to appreciate his ability and his kindly, hospitable nature. Everywhere in Port Perry there are ample evidences of the business enterprises of the deceased.
Since his retirement from business, Mr. CARNEGIE has taken lawn bowling as his recreation. He was Honorary President of the Central Lawn Bowling League and took a keen interest in the game.
The funeral takes place on Thursday this week and deceased is being buried with full Masonic honours. He was a member of Fidelity Lodge, Port Perry and also a Shriner.
