Come to the last ever Region III Meeting! The theme of this year’s meeting is Ask the Experts. The morning portion will feature three different genealogical professionals who will give presentations on their area of expertise. In the afternoon the experts will sit on a panel and answer your research questions. Come prepared to get solutions to your brick walls! To get your questions answered, please submit them ahead of time through the Wellington Branch Facebook page, the branch website or in person.

Attendees are also invited to bring World War I artifacts for identification by experts.

Irish Palatine SIG Special Event: Irish Palatines in Ontario Tour

Date: September 5–15, 2013

The Tour committee is very pleased to announce an exciting addition to the itinerary for the “Irish Palatines in Ontario Tour” in September. The Prime Minister’s wife, Laureen (Teskey) Harper, is an Irish Palatine descendant, and has invited the tour group for tea at 24 Sussex Drive (the Prime Minister’s residence) on one of the days the group is in Ottawa. She will also lead a guided tour of Parliament Hill.

These special events are only open to full tour participants, so if you have been hesitating about signing up, now is the time to do so. You can find more information about the tour on the website of the Irish Palatine Special Interest Group of the Ontario Genealogical Society:
