Location: Ben Franklin Place (former Nepean City Hall), 101 Centrepointe Drive, in the Council Chambers

Speakers: Glenn Wright, Ken McKinlay, Andrew Godefroy

Brief Overview: This full-day event which is jointly sponsored by the Ottawa Public Library, Ottawa Branch OGS and BIFHSGO, will include sessions on “Researching your Military Ancestors at LAC,” “Case studies of Military research,” and “Canada’s contribution to the Great War”. Attendees are also invited to bring World War I artifacts for identification by experts.

Speaker: Kyle J. Betit

Overview: Kyle J. Betit BS (Biology) is a professional genealogist, lecturer and author residing in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a co-editor of the popular journal The Irish At Home and Abroad, and is co-author of A Genealogist’s Guide to Discovering Your Irish Ancestors. He is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), the National Genealogical Society (NGS), the National Writer’s Union, and the Genealogical Speakers Guild.
