World War I Real Genealogy Stories at the Archives of Ontario

Are you a genealogist who had an ancestor who participated in World War I?

Would you love to have an opportunity to share their story with others?

The Archives of Ontario, in partnership with the Ontario Genealogical Society, would like to offer OGS Members a chance to exhibit the story of your family member who participated in World War I through the World War I Real Genealogy Stories exhibit cases. These cases provide you with a unique opportunity to exhibit reproductions of your Archives research and other personal items to illustrate your story. Exhibitions will be on display for three months.

Attention OGS Members: Wanted – An Energetic Individual to Chair the OGS Publishing Committee

Publishing genealogy resource books is a central part of the OGS mandate and the Publishing Committee has been fulfilling that mandate for many years now. The committee is now seeking an energetic individual interested in the world of Canadian genealogy to chair the OGS Publishing Committee. We are looking for someone with an understanding of the publication process, and a vision for the future of OGS publishing.

The position would involve taking on a leadership role among a committee of four dedicated volunteers and a professional Editor and working with that team to do the following:
- determine current needs with regards to genealogical publications and work to develop publications to fulfill these needs,
- receive and develop publication proposals with possible authors,
- establish and follow budgets for the titles being published,
- develop marketing plans for titles
