“Family History Library Resources and Research in the Former Russian Empire”

The Seminar promises to be a great experience, both from what you will learn from Kahlile Mehr and from the networking with other attendees.   There will be opportunities to use the Family History Library, as well as to locate your ancestral village.  You will have free time during the lunch hour and before dinner for these activities.  At an extra cost, you can attend the dinner buffet by Ludwick Catering (one of the best in the city), with Perogies, Cabbage Rolls, Meatballs, Chicken (lightly baked), Scalloped Potatoes, and much more.  The dinner will be followed by Kahlile’s last presentation.

This full-day seminar will feature presentations by internationally renowned authority, Kahlile Mehr  from Salt Lake City. The presentations will focus on two distinct subjects namely, “Family History Library Resources” and “Research in the Former Russian Empire.” The first subject includes information for the former Russian Empire but is also relevant for other areas of eastern Europe such as Poland and Ukraine (including Galicia & Bukovina). The former Russian Empire was comprised of modern-day Russia, the Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia, & Estonia), Belarus, Poland (northeastern), Ukraine (central & eastern including Black Sea), & other former Soviet republics.
