To mark the 175th Anniversary of the 1837 rebellion of Upper Canada, Gibson House is presenting two lectures:

A Rebel Evening with Storyteller Bruce Carmody

“Currents of discontent and rebellion are sweeping through the concession roads, farms and inns of Upper Canada. Join rebel leader David Gibson, recreated by master storyteller Bruce Carmody, as he expounds on the ideas and issues fueling the reformers. A farmhouse supper will be served.”

Pre-registration and pre-payment required. $40 plus tax.

Rebellious Women: Teaspoons Raised

“Discover history through the perspective of three women whose lives were touched by the events of the 1837 Rebellion. Join Adrianna Prosser as she portrays Mrs. Gibson, and her guests Mrs. Cummer and Mrs. Sheppard, as they gather for tea in 1851. Includes a Scottish tea in the historic rooms of the Gibson farmhouse.”
