There are lots of fabulous speakers and sessions at this year’s conference, but there is also another way to spend your morning on Friday May 13, 2011 in Hamilton.
We are offering a Military History Tour.
The tour will leave by bus at 8:30 am from the Hamilton Convention Centre.
The first stop will be the Canadian War Plane Heritage Museum where knowledgeable volunteers will lead the group on a guided tour of the centre and the planes. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and hear the stories the guides have to tell.
The next stop on the tour is the HCMS Haida: an internationally recognized museum and National Historic Site. The Haida one of 8 Tribal Class Destroyers used by the Canadian Navy in World War II. In preparation for D-Day, the Haida is credited with destroying more enemy vessels than any other ship in the Royal Canadian Navy.
After your walk through Canadian military history, the bus will return to the Hamilton Convention CentreĀ by 12:30, just in time for lunch.
You may then either rest or take part in the afternoon workshops and lectures (afternoon workshops and lectures are a separate option on the registration package: $45)
