Overview: Unlike a reference interview, genealogists have specific requests, and may have a little or no knowledge of the types of resources that the library can offer. It is very important that the librarians ask questions that will help them understand what the researcher is looking for. This session will cover the basic questions that are specific to genealogy enquiries.
About the Presenter: Penny Allen is a qualified librarian, who has a passion for genealogy. With over 30 years of experience, she has implemented genealogy programs in public libraries; taught basic genealogy to adult learners through continuing education programs; attended and presented at genealogy conferences; volunteered at the Who Do You Think You Are show in London and researched at many archives and libraries in the U.K. and across Canada.
