How to Order Microfilm From
The Archives of Ontario Interlibrary Loan Catalogue

Order Routing Mail to above address, or send Fax. Telephone or in-person orders not accepted.
Available for Loan Microfilm listed in the "Archives of Ontario Microfilm Interloan Catalogue". Please cite the correct microfilm reference number and note other identifying information (e.g., MS 658 Reel 230, Township Papers, Kingston, ca. 1783-1870) as listed in the catalogue. We will not fill requests without proper identification of reels.
Length of Loan 2 weeks from receipt by library. Renewable if no one else wishes that particular reel.
Quantity Sign-out limit is a maximum of 3 reels per researcher. Additional requests will be returned to the researcher. No limit per institution.
Photocopying No restrictions on users making reader/printer copies for their own research purposes. Check the catalogue NOTES for copyright restrictions for publication, and call the Archives of Ontario. The Interloan Service does not accept orders for microfilm prints.
Purchase Some reels are available for purchase. Individuals or institutions may write to the Archives of Ontario directly to request duplication of microfilm reels. See "Archives of Ontario Reprographic Service Fee Schedule"for price and payment policy.

Available for Loan Microfilm listed in the "Archives of Ontario Microfilm Interloan Catalogue". Approximately 7,000 reels of popular microfilm, including some multicultural newspapers, are available (about 15 percent of our on-site reference microfilms).
To Identify Reels Researchers must consult the Catalogue at their community library or research institution to identify which specific reels are needed. If your community library does not have a copy of the Catalogue, the library may request one from our Interloan Service.
How to Order Submit your request for microfilm reels through a community library/research institution which uses the Interlibrary Loan system. If you need copies of documents from the microfilm, please submit your loan request at an institution which has a microfilm reader/printer machine; the microfilm must stay in the borrowing library. Requests must cite the Microfilm Reference # as indicated in the Catalogue, and brief identifying information (e.g.,MS 658 Reel 230, Township Papers, Kingston,ca. 1783-1870).Incomplete requests will be returned. The Interloan Service does not do research.
Conditions Sign-out limit per researcher is a total of 3 reels. Additional requests will be returned to the researcher. The loan period is 2 weeks, with 1 renewal if no other researcher places a reserve. Researchers make their own copies in the community libraries; the Interloan Service does not provide microfilm prints.
