Welcome to the Irish Palatine Special Interest Group (IP-SIG) – the first Special Interest Group established by the Ontario Genealogical Society in 2008.

The purpose of this group is to help you research your Irish Palatine heritage by providing resource information, links and a connection to other Irish Palatines.  Anyone interested in this SIG should e-mail SIG IP Communications at ip-sig@ogs.on.ca.

It’s time to renew your OGS and IP-SIG Membership

You should have recently received the membership renewal form in the mail that you can use to renew your membership to both the OGS and the IP-SIG. However, if you would like to renew online, please sign in to the member’s only page of the the OGS website at OGS Members Only Sign-in In either case, please make sure that IP-SIG is checked off so that you do not lose your membership to our group. A reminder as well that the password to the Members Only Pages of our website will be reset in January and I will send out the new password to returning members as I am advised by the OGS Membership Chair of the receipt of their renewal.

The Tour Book Has Been Published!

In September 2013, 36 people from five different countries (Ireland, England, Australia, the US and Canada) joined together to tour many of the places in Ontario where their Irish Palatine ancestors had settled. This book is the story, in pictures and words, of the places that they visited. Click here to see a preview of the book…Preview: Irish Palatines in Ontario Tour

If you would like to order a copy of this book (cost of $40.00 Canadian), please email SIG IP Communications at ip-sig@ogs.on.ca for an order form, which will show the appropriate shipping and handling charge (it varies, depending on where the package is going).
