Volunteer at Conference

VOLUNTEERS WANTED!

Like all such undertakings, Conference 2012 will draw on the work of numerous volunteers.  As the old saying goes, “Many hands make light work.”  If you’re willing to volunteer for one or more of these positions, please contact conference2012@ogs.on.ca and indicate which specific position(s) you would like to fill.

Positions During Conference

Instructions specific to your position will be provided when you arrive in Kingston for the June 1-3, 2012 conference.

• Registration Desk staff -  from Thursday evening through to Sunday morning, in one-hour or 1.5-hour slots
• Session Hosts – to introduce and thank the speaker, and help them keep to schedule – for 37 sessions Saturday and Sunday
• Ticket-taker at a meal – after all, you’ll be heading to the cafeteria anyway!
• Ticket-taker for a tour – if you’re signing up for a tour yourself
• “Ask a Pro” assistant – Members of the Ontario Chapter, Association of Professional Genealogists will offer free 15-minute sessions with a professional genealogists, to help folks get beyond those “brick walls” in their research. We will need several volunteers (again, 1.0 or 1.5-hour slots) to assist as registrants move in and out of these sessions.
