Offer of a family history book

Borders and Bridges: 1812 to 2012, the 2012 OGS Conference, will be held in Kingston ON, June 1-3, 2012 at St. Lawrence College, 100 Portsmouth Avenue, Kingston, Ontario

The War of 1812 was a border dispute between England and the United States. Issues such as ; land settlement and pension records (on both sides of the border) of participants in the war of 1812 and other wars; immigration and migration; and genealogical resources in areas bordering eastern Ontario as well as in Ontario will be among the topics covered by speakers at the Conference.

Our Logo

Our Conference logo, with its 1812-era soldiers facing one another across a modern bridge, is the result of a competition held in 2009-10.  Entries were received from across the province, and a panel of three judges including a graphic designer and a published photographer ranked their first, second and third choices as to how well they expressed the theme of "Borders & Bridges: 1812-2012".  The clear winner was this drawing from Peter Johnson, UE, Chair of Quinte Branch of OGS. Peter won a free registration for Conference 2012, and our hearty thanks.
